Research

Johns Hopkins University creates knowledge for the world, and the Krieger School plays a key part in those discoveries. More than 80 percent of Johns Hopkins University students research alongside faculty from all Johns Hopkins institutions, including the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Bloomberg School of Public Health, and the School of Nursing. Students can start as early as their first semester on campus. The Krieger School builds on our 150-year tradition of research excellence by providing research opportunities in all disciplines. 

Students can research topics like genetics, dark matter, neuroscience, political behavior, environmental change, philosophy, AI, public health policy, and history. Opportunities exist in our active labs, local and campus archives, and in the field, often alongside faculty. Many projects cross disciplines, linking areas like biology and public health or sociology and economics.
